Intro to Long Range is either a 1 or 2 day precision rifle course designed and taught by US Army scout-sniper Tyler Black.

This course is designed to teach students the fundamentals of long-range precision shooting.

Minimum material covered:

  • Rifle setup
  • Internal, external and terminal ballistics
  • Ballistic coefficients
  • Wind calls
  • Proper shooting fundamentals
  • zeroing.

Who should take this course? Anyone who wants to learn the skill and science of long range precision shooting. Whether you are a hunter, LEO, or just want to learn – this is a true intro course that you can build on. Discounts available for active LEO and military.

What to expect:
Intro to Long Range will teach you the basic fundamentals of long range shooting in a relaxed training environment. If you want to get treated like an adult and learn practical shooting not designed for competitions but instead has real world application, this is the place for you.

 

The first portion of the course will be in our classroom – then the students will go to the range where they will confirm their rifle zero and transition into shooting at known distances out to 1000 yards from our elevated shooting tower. The 2 day course will dive more in depth with the same topics with more range time.

* Rifle with 200 rounds of ammunition

* Eye protection

* Ear protection

* Precision rifle capable of <1moa

* Rifle optic with adjustable turrets

* Ballistic calculator, ie. Kestrel, Hornady 4dof, ballistic arc, Applied ballistics

* Note taking gear, pen, paper

* Rear support bag

* (Optional) Shooting bags, tripods, etc

10 year Army Cav Scout Veteran with 5 years experience in multiple sniper sections and 4 years in a long range surveillance unit. Combat deployments included the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
